As the address to this blog may imply; I didn’t leave my mother’s womb in a pair of track shoes. I sometimes think to myself that I am built like a penguin (think: long torso, short legs). I sometimes also classify myself as “vertically challenged” as I am an adult female who is 5’1″. However, I’ve had Drill Sergeants that were about my height that easily ran a 13 min./2 mi. (Yup, I’m currently enlisted in the United States Army.) So, I am a firm believer that your body type does not determine how good of a runner you may be.
My journey with running has been an up and down journey. All I know right now is that I am not happy unless I go running everyday. Period.
I try to learn as much as I can about my hobby by doing research and talking to other runners about what they find to be good advice. This blog is essentially a compilation of findings that I have come to as I learn more and more about the sport of running.
Please feel free to comment on what you think about my articles or if you found that the opposite of what I have written has actually tested out better for you. At the end of the day, I want this blog to take up a life of its own and as to serve as a productive discussion about running. Enjoy. 🙂
